I was feeling fatigued and had low energy. I was also stressed, not really active and overweight. After a biometric screening at the Wayne Farms We Care Wellness Center in Pendergrass, Georgia, I reviewed my health-related numbers with Trina McMillan, nurse practitioner. Trina helped me start a health coaching plan to achieve my weight loss goals.
We discussed a plan to lose 5 pounds a month by exercising at least 75 minutes a week, following a low carb diet, increasing my water intake and limiting my eating out to once a week. After following suggested small changes over a period of time, I found I was able to reach my goals month after month.
I feel like I am much healthier. My COPD has improved greatly and my prediabetes has gone away. Altogether, I have lost 29 pounds and 6 inches off my waist. My BMI went from 43.1 down to 26.2. I have more energy. I can walk for much longer without being out of breath. I can get out and play for much longer with my grandson and my husky.
