When I went into the Health and Wellness Center for my first Comprehensive Health Review, almost every number on the screen was red. Blood sugar, blood pressure, triglycerides, cholesterol, and my weight.

I was overweight, always felt tired and sluggish, and had a hard time focusing on job tasks. My blood pressure and cholesterol levels were much higher than normal, and I found that my sugar levels were so high that my condition was classified as diabetic. I knew I needed help, and my appointment with Susan Dittmar, NP was a wake-up call.

After Susan presented me all of my health facts I was afraid I was destined to be on prescribed medication for the rest of my life. I was determined that I was going to fight and chose to discuss my options.

I now eat healthier and make sure to watch my carbohydrate, salt, and sugar intake. I also exercise three to four times weekly! My weight, BMI, blood sugar, A1c, cholesterol, triglycerides, and all of the numbers that were in red during my health review were fixed in only 12 weeks. I have reduced my blood pressure, blood sugar, triglycerides, and cholesterol, and I've lost 28 pounds. I dropped my A1c from 8.0 to 6.0 all through health coaching, diet, and exercise, and without having to go on any medication!

My health is much improved, and I feel great. I have lost 3 pant sizes! My energy, focus, and confidence have returned. I can get out of the house, hike, and participate in activities that I couldn’t before. My husband even went to the center to personally thank Susan for her health coaching.

Normally, I would only go to the doctor once a year to have my wellness checkup and wouldn’t go back until my next required appointment. This time was different. After what I have gone through and what I have learned, I tell people that they should take care of themselves and follow up on their health!
