I had low self-esteem, found it difficult to focus on tasks, and always felt tired and depressed, even occasionally experiencing suicidal thoughts. After having some abnormal biometric screening results, I went to the LifeBalance Health Center in Norridgewock.

Kamaran Currier, MA, and Kristie Knapp, NP, worked with me and prescribed an anti-depressant. They also created an action plan to help me address other areas of my health that required improvement. I started exercising more often, increased my water intake, and started eating more fruits, vegetables, and healthy fats.

As a result of being dedicated to achieving my health goals, I am now 40 pounds lighter. I have a more positive outlook, I have more energy and focus, and my overall quality of life has improved. Best of all, I’m happy. I’m a better role model for my two girls, which is very important to me.

My advice? Take small steps and stay focused on your goals. Don’t beat yourself up or surrender if you get off track or hit a plateau. Keep changing to reach your goals and you’ll get there!
