Marathon Health, LLC, a provider of onsite health centers that enable employers to optimize the health of their workforce and business, today announced that it has expanded its Florida presence to twenty-one health centers with the opening of the Charlotte County Public Schools onsite health center next month. The company credits its success in Florida to consistently improving health outcomes and reversing claims trends in a region where employers understand the value of population health management.
Last month, Charlotte County Public Schools officials announced that the district transitioned its onsite wellness center to Marathon Health in an effort to increase participation in primary and preventative care services, improve the health of their population, and reduce healthcare costs.
Boca Raton Regional Hospital recently renewed their agreement with Marathon Health to continue to provide a convenient health center to employees on campus. Boca Raton Regional Hospital understands the importance of empowering employees and their dependents to take control of their health. Therefore, the company is offering its health center services to employers in the Boca Raton community that don't meet the requirement to establish their own onsite health center.
"Ensuring a healthy workforce is and always will be a priority. We understand that if our people are healthier, then they provide better care to our patients," said Melissa Whelchel, director of strategic development, Boca Raton Regional Hospital. "Since establishing our onsite health center, we've been able to achieve metrics that wouldn't have been attainable without it. In just three years, we've seen 66 percent of employees engage with the onsite health center and 87 percent of employees with diabetes meet the standard of care."
"From listening to our employees we learned that they wanted convenient access to high-quality healthcare, and we wanted an onsite health center partner who would work with us to create a personalized approach to healthcare based on our workforce," said Risk Manager Guy Hine, City of Fort Lauderdale. "Since implementing our onsite health center with Marathon Health, we've been nothing short of impressed by their professionalism, responsiveness and ability to provide superior services to our employees throughout Fort Lauderdale."
"We are growing at a rapid pace in the Southeast, and specifically in Florida, with both existing and new clients," said Jerry Ford, CEO, Marathon Health. "Charlotte County Public Schools, Boca Raton Regional Hospital and the cities of Plantation and Fort Lauderdale are a few examples of the trend: local employers who are increasing the value of their healthcare resources by offering their workforce convenient access to high-quality care. We are focused on transforming healthcare by offering high-performing onsite health centers, and our model enables real-time access to data to inform both clinical and business-level decision-making. We're excited to be partnering with so many Florida corporations to help them optimize the health of their workforce, benefits and business."
Marathon Health continues to build off of their success in working with employer organizations throughout Florida including, school districts, hospitals and health systems, hospitality and tourism, a women's clothing chain, municipalities, financial, technology and an international legal firm.
